GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – In the opening contest of a three-game, mid-week series versus Adelphi, the Pace University softball team was defeated on the road by a score of 3-1.

The loss puts the Setters' record at 5-6 this season, including a 2-3 mark inside the Northeast-10 Conference.

Pace's bats were only able to muster three hits against the Panthers' Ally Muller, who struck out 10 in a complete game in the circle.

On the other side, Adelphi scored runs in the first, second and fifth innings to build up a 3-0 lead.

The Setters put their run across in the seventh before nearly mounting a final-inning comeback.

Briana Ryan (Wilmington, CA/Carson) led off the frame with a triple down the left-field line. She then came home courtesy of an Arielle Acosta (Union City, CA/Moreau Catholic High School) two-out single through the left side.

Following a walk to Emma Carruth (Torrance, CA/Beverly Hills), Pace's rally would end with the bases loaded in the seventh inning.
