Ettrick, Va. – A day after winning the series opener, the Pace University baseball team dropped a pair of seven-inning games at Virginia State on Wednesday afternoon. The 0-2 day shifts the Setters' record to 10-4 on the season.
Game One – Virginia State 6, Pace 1
A five-run sixth for the Trojans led the way in their win in Game One. A pair of RBI doubles, along with a two-run home run, broke the game open for Virginia State.
Barbato supplied the Setters' lone offense in the third inning when he registered an RBI double to left field. Freshman
Justin Scotto (Tinton Falls, NJ/Monmouth Regional High School) scored on the play after reaching on an error to lead off the inning.
Game Two – Virginia State 9, Pace 5
It was another five-run spurt for Virginia State in the sixth inning of Game Two that led to the sweep.
Harrison Treble (Oyster Bay, NY/Oyster Bay/St. Bonaventure) was a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a walk in the second contest of the day.
Luke Jacobi (Edison, NJ/JP Stevens) also chipped in a pair of knocks, to go along with two runs scored.

Up Next
The Setters will return home for four games this weekend at Finnerty Field. Pace hosts Merrimack for a doubleheader on Saturday before welcoming Assumption for a pair of games on Sunday.
