Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

No. 11 Women's Lacrosse Defeated at No. 19 Merrimack, 10-6

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Taking on their first NE10 opponent of the season, the 11th-ranked Pace University women's lacrosse team was defeated at No. 19 Merrimack College on Saturday by a score of 10-6. The defeat shifts the Setters' record to 2-2 on the season.

A 4-1 start to the contest for Merrimack set the tone in Pace's NE10 opener. A goal with 20 seconds left in the first half followed by a tally to begin the second led to a Merrimack lead of 7-3.

After a goal from Mary Kate Lonegan (Brewster, NY/Brewster) cut the lead to 8-6 in the second half, the Setters were unable to score over the final 13:17 of regulation. Pace put 14 shots on net, but eight saves from Merrimack keeper, Lauren Trepaney, loomed large.

Courtney Sulfaro (Shirley, NY/William Floyd) led the Setters' attack with a team-best three points on two goals and an assist. Lonegan also found the back of the net twice for the Setters, while Juliana Marcolini (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) notched a pair of assists.

Seniors Amanda Dickerson (Riverhead, NY/Riverhead) and Kylee Scott (Baldwinsville, NY/Baldwinsville) rounded out the Blue and Gold's goal-scorers—each notching one tally.
