How it Happened
A 24-15 second quarter from SCSU sent the owls into the break with an 11-point lead, which would eventually grow to 13 early on in the third quarter.
A 10-3 run from Pace in the fourth quarter cut the lead to just one at the midway point. The Setters would cut it to just a single point once again with 55 seconds left.
Pace trailed across the final 25:55 of regulation before Monteleone tied the game up with just two ticks on the clock.
The Setters would take their first lead since the first quarter in the beginning stages of extra time. A three-pointer from
Stefanie Svoboda (Ossining, NY/Ossining) gave Pace a 74-73 advantage. Schetter would then add an old-fashioned three-point play to push the lead to lead to four points.
The Owls would respond to the deficit with a 9-1 game-ending run, which featured a 7-for-7 effort from the free-throw line.
Up Next
The Setters wrap up the regular season with a road trip to the College of Saint Rose on Tuesday night. Pace and the Golden Knights will tip off at 5:30 p.m.
