PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - The Pace University women's basketball team was defeated by Le Moyne College on Wednesday night, 65-60.

Inside the Numbers

*Jackie DelliSanti (Commack, NY/Commack) reached double figures for a second straight contest, scoring 17 points on Wednesday night. Alexandra Monteleone (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) also eclipsed the 10-point mark, scoring 14. The senior was especially effective from beyond the arc, shooting three-of-five on three-point attempts.

*For a second straight game, DelliSanti led the Setters with eight rebounds. Schetter added five boards, with three coming on the offensive end.

*Lauren Hackett (Commack, NY/St. Anthony's) and Stefanie Svoboda (Ossining, NY/Ossining) served as the Setters' main orchestrators, combining for nine of Pace's 16 total assists.

*The Blue and Gold were extremely effective controlling the ball, turning the ball over a season-low seven times compared to Le Moyne's 16.

How it Happened
The first quarter would ultimately prove to be the difference maker in the contest, as a five-point advantage for the Dolphins through the opening 10 minutes went on to be the eventual deciding margin. Le Moyne opened the game with seven unanswered points to put Pace in an early deficit. The Dolphins would lead by as high as eight, but a mini 6-3 Setter run to close out the quarter cut the Le Moyne lead down to 15-10.

The two offenses matched each other throughout the remainder of the game, with both teams scoring 17 in the second quarter, 16 in the third, and 17 once again in the fourth. Le Moyne would lead by as much as 10 late in the second quarter.

Despite trailing for all of the first half, the Setters would claw their way in front in the closing minutes of the third quarter. A Schetter layup capped off an 8-4 scoring advantage for the Setters to give the Blue and Gold a 43-42 advantage.

Le Moyne would score six straight points over the quarter's final 96 seconds to regain a five-point cushion. Pace would hang tough in the fourth, trailing by just three with under a minute left, but the Setters would never get an opportunity for the game-tying shot as a pair of free throws from Le Moyne closed out the game, 65-60.
