In a pivotal game with potential postseason implications, the Pace women will host Adelphi to begin Saturday's action. Pace enters the weekend at 9-15 overall and 6-10 in conference play, just one win behind both fourth and fifth place in the NE10's Southwest Division.
The Setters picked up a 68-61 win against the fourth-place New Haven Chargers on Wednesday night to begin the final three-game homestand of the year. It was the freshmen that got things done on Wednesday, as
Kelsey Quain (Ossining, NY/Ossining),
Lauren Hackett (Commack, NY/St. Anthony's), and
Brianna Wong (River Vale, NJ/Pascack Valley) each reached double figures to pilot the Pace offense. One of the NE10's top takeaway teams continued to generate steals as Pace's 13 steals against the Chargers matched their second-highest total of the season.
After a rough 1-5 stretch to close out January, Adelphi has won three straight games to head into Saturday with a 12-12 record (9-8 NE10). A 32-point performance by Niajah Morgan led the Panthers past Saint Rose on Wednesday, 71-66. While not a team that draws many fouls, Adelphi has capitalized on their opportunities at the free throw line, connecting on close to 75 percent of their free throws this season.

After having their four-game win streak snapped on Wednesday, the Setters look to string together one more series of victories to close out the regular season, starting against Adelphi. Pace sits at 15-9 on the season and 9-7 against the NE10, currently fifth in the Southwest Division.
Pace fell to New Haven on Wednesday night, 80-69.
Peyton Wejnert (Point Pleasant, NJ/Southern Regional) led the Setter offense for a fourth consecutive contest, scoring 17 against the Chargers. The junior forward is now 28 points shy of becoming the 35
th member of the program's 1000-Point Club.
Brandon Jacobs (Cambria Heights, NY/Long Island Lutheran) also pulled closer to a milestone of his own, as his seven assists brings him just 12 helpers away from tying the single-season record.
The Panthers are winners of two straight heading into the weekend, sitting at 17-8 overall and 11-6 in conference play. Adelphi defeated Saint Rose, 83-67, on Wednesday as the Panthers' Conor McGuinness reached his 1,000 career-point mark. Nick Cambio, the NE10's second most accurate shooter this season, comes off a 30-point performance against the Golden Knights.
