WATERBURY, Conn. – Continuing a stretch of three games in six days, the Pace University women's basketball team was defeated at Post University on Friday night by an 82-70 margin. The loss puts the Setters' record at 8-3 this season, while the Eagles improve to 6-2.
In a back-and-forth contest that featured five ties and five lead changes, it was a game-ending 13-0 run that provided Post with the victory on Friday night.
The Setters were led by another standout effort from junior Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School), who led all Pace scorers with 24 points. She also chipped in a team-best eight rebounds. Schetter has now eclipsed the 20-point mark in six straight contests.
Jackie DelliSanti (Commack, N.Y./Commack) and Brianna Wong (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley) each joined Schetter in double figures. DelliSanti put in 12 points, while Wong followed with 10. Wong also nabbed a team-best four steals.Â
The Setters led for the majority of the action on Friday night with their final edge (70-69) coming at the 3:51 mark of the fourth quarter.
Post made four of its last five shots from the field, while also going 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in the final 43 seconds.
