Women's Basketball Has Win Streak Snapped by No. 21 Adelphi, 74-68

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Despite cutting a 15-point deficit to just five late in the fourth quarter, the Pace University women's basketball team was defeated by 21st-ranked Adelphi on Tuesday night by a score of 74-68.

The loss snaps a six-game winning streak for the Setters, moving their record to 8-2 this season (3-1, NE10). The Panthers, meanwhile, improve to 10-0 on the year.

The duo of Jackie DelliSanti (Commack, N.Y./Commack) and Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) piloted the Blue and Gold on Tuesday night. The pair of Setters combined for 46 points, 22 rebounds and six steals.

DelliSanti's output was especially superb as she became the latest member of Pace's 1,000-point club. In fact, she is just the 14th player in program history to record at least 1,000 career points and 500 career rebounds.

DelliSanti served as Pace's top scorer (24) and rebounder (14) on Tuesday en route to posting her second straight double-double.

Sophomore Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) dished out a season-high seven assists, to go along with six points. Classmate Brianna Wong (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley) also chipped in six points, in addition to a pair of steals.

Pace's defense forced 22 Adelphi turnovers, which marks the Panthers' highest total this season. Schetter's team-high four steals led the way for 11 takeaways for Pace.

Trailing by 15 to open the fourth quarter, Pace chipped away. Back-to-back three-pointers to begin the frame sparked a stretch that cut the edge to seven with less than two minutes left, and then five with about a minute remaining.
