EASTON, Mass. – In a battle of second-place teams in the NE10, the Pace University football team fell to Stonehill College on Saturday afternoon with a final score of 34-22. The loss drops the Setters' record to 4-3 in the NE10 and 5-4 overall.
The Blue and Gold produced a strong rushing attack with
Jhalen Bien-Aime (Dorchester, Mass./Bridgton Academy) and
Carlton Aiken (Gibbstown, N.J./Paulsboro) combining for 250 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Bien-Aime finished with 129 yards and recorded his longest touchdown of the season on a 36-yard run.
Aiken also threw for a touchdown, finding
Darius Jones (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) on a 21-yard connection. Jones finished with 6 receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown. He has eclipsed 50 receiving yards in seven of Pace's nine games this season.
Defensive backs Harrison-Moran Fernandez and
Dustin Huseinovic (Harrison, N.J./Harrison) led the Blue and Gold in tackles with 10 apiece while
Jalen Martinez (Methuen, Mass./Brooks) and
Hemyer Hernandez (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grand Street Campus) each recorded a pair of tackles behind the line of scrimmage.
Senior kicker
Pat Davis (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Township) tallied his 30
th-career field goal when he knocked a 28-yarder through the uprights for the Setters first points of the game.
