SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Fueled by a big second half, the Pace University women's basketball team picked up a 58-40 win at American International College on Saturday. The victory puts the Setters at 5-1 this season, including 1-0 inside the Northeast-10 Conference.
Trailing by one point at halftime, the Setters outscored AIC by a 39-20 margin across the final 20 minutes of regulation. Pace put together a 14-4 run to end the third quarter while closing the contest with a 15-3 stretch.
Junior
Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) led the way for Pace, posting her ninth career double-double. The Beacon native finished the contest with 22 points and 13 rebounds, while also chipping in two steals and a block.
Senior
Jackie DelliSanti (Commack, N.Y./Commack) also finished in double figures for the sixth time this season. She put together a stat line of 16 points, five rebounds, three steals, and three assists.
Junior
Naya Rivera (Pomona, N.Y./North Rockland) and sophomore
Kelsey Quain (Ossining, N.Y./Ossining) supplemented the Pace attack with seven points apiece. Rivera hauled in seven rebounds as well.
The Setters' defense was once again impressive, limiting the Yellow Jackets to 27.9 percent shooting from the field. Pace also forced 17 turnovers in the game.
