PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Fueled by five players in double figures, the Pace University women's basketball team posted a 77-52 win over Felician University on Thursday night inside the Goldstein Fitness Center. The victory puts the Blue at Gold's record at 4-1 so far this season.
The Setters' attack was piloted by 16 points each from Brianna Wong (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley) and Jackie DelliSanti (Commack, N.Y./Commack). The duo combined to shoot 13-of-19 from the floor. DelliSanti also chipped in four assists, while Wong tallied a pair of steals.
Junior Naya Rivera (Pomona, N.Y./North Rockland) posted her first career double-double in the victory, finishing the night with 14 points and 10 rebounds—both career-bests.
Classmate Iliana Krasniqi (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde) also put forth a stellar stat line, tallying a career-high 12 points on a perfect 6-of-6 from the field.
Pace's defense was stout throughout the night, forcing Felician to just 20-of-64 shooting (31.3 percent) from the floor. The Setters also racked up 10 steals as seven different players recorded at least one putaway.
