BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Led by a career-best performance from sophomore
Brianna Wong (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley), the Pace University women's basketball team put together an 89-53 triumph over Concordia College on Tuesday night. The win moves the Setters' record to 3-1 on the early season.
Wong was nearly perfect against the Clippers, finishing with a career-high 25 points on 10-of-13 shooting. She made all four of her attempts from beyond the arc, while also chipping in six assists on the night.
Jackie DelliSanti (Commack, N.Y./Commack) and
Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) joined Wong in double figures, notching 15 and 14 points respectively. DelliSanti also put forth six boards and four assists.
Junior
Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) served as Pace's top rebounder with seven boards while DelliSanti and Hackett each finished with a team-best two steals.
Pace's decisive win was sparked by a 14-0 run to open the second quarter. In fact, the Setters outscored Concordia by a 58-27 margin across the second and third frames.Â
The Blue and Gold had 10 different players record at least three points in the contest. Pace's 24 total assists (34 made field goals) are the most for the Setters in a game since 2016.
