WALTHAM, Mass. – Beginning their final weekend of the season, the Pace University volleyball team dropped a three-set match (22-25, 15-25, 19-25) at Bentley on Friday night.
A day after being named CoSIDA Academic All-District, sophomore Sandra Yang (Bothell, Wash./Edmonds-Woodway) piloted the Pace offense. The Washington native recorded a team-best 13 kills while hitting .229 for the match.
Three other Setters tallied at least six putaways on Friday, with Brielle Jones (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Palm Beach Gardens) notching eight, Mackenzie Byrne (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa)Â earning seven and Tatjana Calimpong-Burke (Waianae, Hawaii/Iolani) posting six. Jones also chipped in a season-high 12 digs.
Senior Samantha Nidini (Houston, Texas/Clearlake) and junior Nicole Pivetti (Modena, Italy/Liceo Wiligelmo) split the passing duties as they combined for 29 assists. Senior Danielle Vaiano (Seaford, N.Y./St. Anthony's) once again led the Blue and Gold in digs with 13.
