PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Finishing up a three-match home stand, the Pace University volleyball team dropped a three-set match (25-22, 25-23, 25-22) to Georgian Court University on Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore Sandra Yang (Bothell, Wash./Edmonds-Woodway) led the Setter offense for a third straight contest. Yang accounted for a team-high 16 points, finishing with 11 kills, two services aces and a pair of solo blocks.
Yang has now reached double-figure putaways in seven matches this season, leading the Setters in both total kills and kills per set.
Freshman Brielle Jones (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Palm Beach Gardens) and senior Tatjana Calimpong-Burke (Waianae, Hawaii/Iolani) also supplied a good portion of Pace's offense with a combined 15 kills.
Samantha Nidini (Houston, Texas/Clearlake) and Katy Motz (Cedar Park, Texas/Cedar Park) totaled 21 assists across the three sets, while Danielle Vaiano (Seaford, N.Y./St. Anthony's) picked up a team-high 12 digs.
