PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Playing their second home game in the span of 22 hours, the Pace University field hockey team was defeated by Coker University in overtime on Sunday afternoon, 2-1.
With the score even at 1-1 following more than 65 minutes of game action, Britt Kabo supplied the Cobras' game-winner in the sixth minute of overtime.
Pace hopped out to the 1-0 lead on Sunday following Danielle Merante's (Garrison, N.Y./Walter Panas) fourth goal of the season with less than 10 seconds left before halftime. Junior Mia Lennon (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Lakeland) tallied her ninth career assist on the play.
The Cobras knotted things up in the third quarter following an Alyssa Baronella-O'Toole goal in the 38th minute.
Sophomore goalkeeper Grace Henderson (Kingswood, South Australia/Unley) posted eight stops in net for the Setters. The Australia native currently ranks third in the NE10 with 93 total saves this season.
