SPARKILL, N.Y. – Playing for the first time as Northeast-10 Conference opponents, the Pace University field hockey team was defeated at Saint Thomas Aquinas College on Wednesday by a score of 3-2.
The Setters' offense was led by a goal and an assist off the stick of junior Kim Schiera (Carmel, N.Y./Mahopac).
Schiera first found freshman Jessica Wolfe (Halfmoon, N.Y./Shenendehowa) for her first-career goal to give Pace a 1-0 edge in the 11th minute.
Schiera would then supply the Setters with a 2-1 lead in the third quarter courtesy of a goal at 36:44. Freshman Hannah Wyllie (Guildford, England/George Abbot School) picked up her first-career assist on the play.
The Spartans notched the game's final two tallies in the fourth quarter. Briannah Thorne evened the contest up in the 47th minute while Lauren Cooper put in the game-winner at 52:17.

The Setters will be back on the road this weekend, traveling to face fourth-ranked Saint Anselm on Saturday at 1 p.m.
