PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Continuing a current three-match home stand, the Pace University volleyball team was defeated by Saint Anselm in four sets (18-25, 14-25, 25-21, 18-25) on Saturday afternoon.
Sandra Yang (Bothell, Wash./Edmonds-Woodway) continued her strong sophomore season with another solid offensive performance. The Washington native tallied a match-high 13 kills, to go along with a .286 hitting percentage.
Freshman
Brielle Jones (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Palm Beach Gardens) nearly joined Yang in double figures, finishing the afternoon with nine putaways. Junior
Mackenzie Byrne (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) served as Pace's leader in hitting percentage (.389) while tallying eight kills of her own.
Setters,
Samantha Nidini (Houston, Texas/Clearlake) and
Nicole Pivetti (Modena, Italy/Liceo Wiligelmo), combined for 30 assists in the match.
Danielle Vaiano (Seaford, N.Y./St. Anthony's) led the way in the digs category with a match-high 18.
As a team, Pace racked up seven service aces and 10 blocks across the four sets.
