PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – In another tight game played at Finnerty Field, the Pace University field hockey team dropped a 2-1 contest to Bentley University on Saturday afternoon.
Following a scoreless third quarter, a goal from the Falcons'Â Keally Ingersoll just 31 seconds into the final frame served as the game-winner.
Down 2-1, the Setters were relentless in their pursuit of an equalizer over the final 14-plus minutes. Pace tallied all eight of their penalty corners during that frame, including six in a frantic final 1:11 of regulation.
The first two goals of the afternoon occurred within 2:07 of each other in the second quarter. Freshman Cienna Bosher (Blackwood, N.J./Highland) knocked in her second goal of the season for Pace to tie the score at 1-1 with five seconds left before halftime.
Bosher one-timed a nice find from junior Kamryn Gianfrancesco (Greenlawn, N.Y./Harborfields), who earned the assist on the play.
Sophomore goalkeeper Grace Henderson (Kingswood, South Australia/Unley) battled once again in net, registering 11 saves for the second-straight contest.
