Pace Field Hockey Moves Past SCSU, 2-1

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Facing a 1-0 halftime deficit, the Pace University field hockey team rallied on Tuesday night for a 2-1 triumph over Southern Connecticut State University.

Despite the Owls leading by a goal for more than 35 minutes of game time, the Setters continued their unbeaten streak against SCSU (7-0).

Freshman Jessica Wolfe (Halfmoon, N.Y./Shenendehowa) provided Pace's first goal, evening the score up with less than two minutes remaining in the third quarter. Sophomore Mia Lennon (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Lakeland) earned the assist on the play after her shot was deflected into the back of the net by Wolfe.

Lennon struck again in the fourth quarter as her goal with less than three minutes left served as the game-winner. Lennon hammered home a penalty corner played in by classmate Kim Schiera (Carmel, N.Y./Mahopac).

Sophomore Grace Henderson (Kingswood, South Australia/Unley) earned the win in net, allowing just the one goal while posting six saves. Classmate Chelsea Gostomski (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) entered the game with 2:25 left to help preserve the win.
