PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Beginning a three-game home stand at Finnerty Field, the Pace University field hockey team dropped a 3-1 contest to No. 7 Adelphi University on Tuesday afternoon.
In a contest that was tied for nearly 35 minutes of game action, two late goals from the Panthers' Giana McKeough proved to be the difference.
Pace goalkeeper Grace Henderson (Kingswood, South Australia/Unley) put together another top-notch effort in net, posting 11 saves—including nine in the second half. Henderson has now racked up double-figure stops in four of the Setters' seven games this season.
The Blue and Gold's offense was supplied by freshman Jenna Piotrowski (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville North), who put in her first career goal to tie the game at 1-1 in the 19th minute.
