Women's Basketball Storms Past Franklin Pierce, 72-56

RINDGE, N.H. - Sparked by a dominant third quarter, the Pace University women's basketball team earned a 72-56 win over Franklin Pierce on Wednesday night. The win improves the Setters' record inside the NE10 to 4-5 this season.

Inside the Numbers
*Junior Jackie DelliSanti (Commack, NY/Commack) tied a career-high with 24 points, making nine of her 13 attempts from the floor. She also registered nine rebounds, two steals and a block.

*Lauren Schetter (Beacon, NY/Beacon High School) and Lauren Hackett (Commack, NY/St. Anthony's) also put together strong stat lines for Pace. Schetter finished the game with 18 points and five rebounds, while Hackett tallied her first career double-double (11 points, 10 assists).

*Alexandra Monteleone (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) was the Setters' final player to reach double figures with 10 points, while Brianna Wong (River Vale, NJ/Pascack Valley) led Pace with three steals.

*The Setters had great success from the free-throw line, making 15 of their 19 attempts. They also put together a 16-for-30 effort (53.3 percent) from the floor in the first half.

*Defensively, the Blue and Gold forced a season-best 27 turnovers. Six different Setters finished with three steals on the night.

How it Happened
After trailing by five after one quarter, the Setters outscored Franklin Pierce by 57-36 margin over the game's final 30 minutes.

Pace was especially dominant in the third quarter, using a 22-6 stretch to take a 59-37 lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

The Setters, who held a six-point lead at halftime, ended the third quarter on a 14-2 run. Pace made all 11 of its attempts from the free-throw line in the third quarter.

The Blue and Gold maintained their healthy advantage in the fourth quarter, leading to a final score of 72-56.
