BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Back in action for the first time in two weeks, the Pace University cross country teams posted solid results at Saturday's Paul Short Run at Lehigh University. The men's squad finished 18
th (out of 37 teams), posting an average time of 28:53, while the women had an average finish of 27:39 to place 34
th. Additionally, the men finished second out of 11 teams from the East Region, while the women were slotted eighth.
Men's Results
Alec Valle (Newburgh, NY/Blair Academy) was the top runner for Pace on the day, placing 63
rd with a time of 28:04.
Killian McCole (Staten Island, NY/Monsignor Farrell) and
Izzeldeen Farraj (Staten Island, NY/CSIHS/McCown) were second and third on the men's side, separated by just two seconds. McCole placed 85
th with a time of 28:25, while Farraj's 28:27 earned him an 87
th-place finish.
Ricky Harris (West Harrison, NY/Harrison) clocked in at 29:36 to place 139
th, while
Ryan Oakes (Scarsdale, NY/Eastchester) (29:49) and
Mitchell Lawrence (Poughquag, NY/Arlington) (29:57) placed 143
rd and 149
th, respectively.
Benjamin Dengler (South Kortright, NY/South Kortright Central) rounded out the men's efforts with a 30:39 time to placed 173
rd.
Women's Results
Heaven Swan (Wingdale, NY/Dover) once again led the way on the women's side, posting a team-best 25:49 mark to place 125
th.
Rachael Daniels (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) joined her in the top-200, clocking in a 26:53 to place 172
nd.
Jessica Uben (Ridgefield Park, NJ/Ridgefield Park) finished 204
th with a time of 28:05, while
Camryn Podgorski (Brewster, NY/Brewster) was right behind her two seconds later. In another pair of close finishes,
Crystal Raines' (Roosevelt, NJ/Hightstown) 232
nd place-time of 29:19 was two spots ahead and 12 seconds faster than classmate
Julia Presta (North Massapequa, NY/Farmingdale).
Shea Cody (Shrewsbury, NJ/Red Bank Regional) closed out the race for the Setters with a time of 20:18, placing 245
th.
