PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Playing their final Northeast-10 Conference game of the season, the Pace University baseball team was defeated by No. 15 University of New Haven on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 7-2. The Setters end the regular season with a mark of 8-10 against divisional foes, currently sitting fourth in the Southwest standings.
The Chargers used an attack that featured runs in six different innings, as well as a stout pitching performance from David Palmer. Palmer, who entered the game ranked first in the NE10 in ERA (0.67) this season, gave up two runs in seven innings of action.
New Haven put three on the board across the first two frames before tacking on runs in the fifth, sixth, seventh, and ninth. The Chargers had five different players record RBIs, while racking up 13 hits.
The Blue and Gold used five different pitchers in the contest with junior Kevin Wiltse (East Setauket, NY/Ward Mellville/University of Hartford) getting the loss. It was Wiltse's first defeat as a Setter as he entered the game with a perfect 4-0 record.
Pace's offense was able to put together just seven hits—six of which came against Palmer. Michael Barbato (Sparkill, NY/Tappan Zee) led the Setters with two knocks while Michael Gulino (Meriden, CT/Maloney) registered both RBIs for Pace with a two-out double in the sixth.

The Blue and Gold will conclude their regular season with a three-game series against Molloy College this weekend. Pace will host the Lions for a single game on Friday (3 p.m.) before heading to Molloy for a doubleheader on Saturday (Noon).
