PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – With the weather seemingly still stuck in winter mode, all four of Pace University's spring athletic squads will head on the road this weekend for Northeast-10 Conference competition.

The eighth-ranked Setters will take on their toughest competition so far this season when they travel to take on top-ranked Le Moyne on Saturday afternoon. Pace enters the weekend tied for third in the NE10 at 4-1 (5-2 overall), while the undefeated Dolphins sit tied atop the league (5-0).
The Setters returned to their winning ways in their last contest against Saint Rose, recording a 13-7 triumph on the road. Pace used a 7-1 run in the second quarter to turn a 3-0 deficit into a three-goal lead by halftime.
Ryan O'Hagan (Watervliet, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) and
Bradley Paterson (Caldwell, NJ/Depaul Catholic) each had a team-high three goals, leading the way for eight different scorers.
Goalkeeper
Robert Beshlian (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh) continued his stellar senior campaign last week, tallying 13 saves against Saint Rose. He has now made double-digit stops in six of seven games this season, and currently ranks second in the NE10 in save percentage (62.8). Beshlian is the final barrier for a Pace defense that leads the NE10 in caused turnovers this season (96).

The Setters, who have won five of their last six games, look to continue the momentum in a pair of games at Bentley. Pace sits at 12-7-1 on the season (6-3 NE10) while the Falcons begin the weekend at 9-12 overall, 3-3 against conference foes.
The Blue and Gold earned arguably their best win of the year yesterday afternoon at No. 5 New Haven. Pace used another gem from junior
Dan Wirchansky (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland/RCC) to tally a 4-1 victory over the nationally ranked Chargers. Wirchansky, who tossed a complete-game three-hitter, moved his record to 5-1 this season with a 0.71 ERA. He also leads the NE10 this season with 63 strikeouts. As a whole, Pace's pitching staff ranks second in the conference in ERA at 3.01.
Freshman
Harrison Treble (Oyster Bay, NY/Oyster Bay/St. Bonaventure) came up with the big hit against New Haven, breaking a 1-1 tie in the eighth. The Rookie hammered a two-out, bases-loaded triple to give Pace a three-run lead.
Michael Gulino (Meriden, CT/Maloney) also produced at the plate, tallying three of Pace's five hits in the game. Gulino, currently batting .347, leads Pace in RBIs (23) and home runs (3) this season.

Currently in the midst of a three-game winning streak, the Setters head North this weekend for doubleheaders against Assumption and Merrimack. Pace's recent upswing has produced a 5-5 NE10 record entering Saturday's action.
Most recently, the Blue and Gold swept a Thursday doubleheader against New Haven at the Pace Softball Field. Freshman
Niyah Brown (Chino, CA/Chino Hills) launched a home run in each contest, including a walk-off bomb in the seventh inning of Game Two. Senior
Larissa Labs (Carlsbad, CA/San Marcos High School) also impressed at the dish, going 4-for-6 with a triple. Labs is currently leading the NE10 in slugging percentage (.697), and ranks second in the league in batting (.439).
The first contest against New Haven was controlled by
Emma Bernet (Baldwinsville, NY/Charles W Baker), who delivered her fourth-straight complete game. The sophomore tossed six shutout innings, allowing five hits and a walk while striking out four. Bernet lowered her season ERA to 1.63, and has allowed just three runs over her last four starts.

Fresh off a mid-week triumph over No. 18 New Haven, the 10
th-ranked Setters head to Saint Michael's for a Sunday matchup. Pace enters the weekend with a 7-3 overall record, including a 4-2 mark against the NE10.
The Setters, now winners of two straight, picked up their first-ever win over the Chargers on Tuesday night. The senior trio of
Abby Haimson (Montville, NJ/Montville),
Stephanie Chadnick (Brewster, NY/Brewster) and
Casey Gelderman (Farmingville, NY/Sachem High School East) combined to score 10 goals in the victory, while classmate
Jillian Oross (Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore) notched seven saves in net. The Blue and Gold put together a 29-17 advantage in shots on goal, and a 31-26 edge in ground balls. Pace remains second in the NE10 in caused turnovers this season at 119.
The triumph over New Haven came a day after Pace earned its highest ranking in school history at No. 10 in the IWLCA national rankings. The Setters have been slotted in every poll this season, beginning the year at No. 18.
