No. 14 Women's Lacrosse Doubles Up Southern New Hampshire, 20-10

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Sparked by a 12-0 run in the first half, the 14th-ranked Pace University women's lacrosse team recorded a 20-10 win over Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday afternoon. The victory signifies Pace's 11th of the season, which ties the program mark for most in a season.

Milestone Moment
*At the 21:41 minute of the first half, senior Casey Gelderman (Farmingville, NY/Sachem High School East) registered the 200th goal in her career. Gelderman, who was part of Pace's maiden squad in 2015, has been the Setters' leading scorer three of the last four seasons. She has averaged a little over three goals per game over her storied career.

Inside the Numbers
*Gelderman, who finished with a team-high four tallies on the day, was one of 12 goal-scorers for the Blue and Gold.

*Amanda Dickerson (Riverhead, NY/Riverhead), Courtney Pabst (East Patchogue, NY/Bellport), Mary Kate Lonegan (Brewster, NY/Brewster), Carlyn Mucci (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas), and Emma Rafferty (Bay Shore, NY/Islip) each added two goals apiece.

*Abby Haimson (Montville, NJ/Montville), Angela Kelly (Garnerville, NY/North Rockland), Emily Ankabrandt (Scotia, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake), Johnna Leone (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale), Kylee Scott (Baldwinsville, NY/Baldwinsville), and Juliana Marcolini (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) also found the back of the net for the Setters.

*Senior Stephanie Chadnick (Brewster, NY/Brewster) served as Pace's 13th point-scorer, earning the assist on Pace's final goal of the first half.

*The Setters put together a 24-14 edge in shots on goal, and a 23-8 advantage in draw controls.

*Senior goalkeeper Jillian Oross (Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore) posted four saves to pick up her 11th win of the season.

How it Happened
A 12-0 run in the first half—spanning more than 18 minutes—completely seized the momentum for Pace. Gelderman put in three during the stretch while back-to-back goals from Dickerson capped off the rally. Following a goal from the Penmen at the 2:15 mark of the first half, Ankabrandt notched the final tally of the first half to give Pace a 15-2 lead at the break.

Sitting with the comfortable lead at halftime, the Setters cruised to the finish line in the second half. Scott put in her first goal of the season in the second 30 while Mucci, Rafferty, Gelderman and Leone also notched tallies.

Up Next
The Setters will wrap up their regular season next week with two more contests, beginning with a road game at Saint Anselm on Wednesday night.
