No. 14 Pace Women's Lacrosse Storms Past Saint Anselm, 15-9

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Capped off by a game-ending 9-0 run, the 14th-ranked Pace University women's lacrosse team cruised away with a 15-9 triumph at Saint Anselm on Wednesday afternoon. The win improves the Setters' record to 12-4 this season, which sets a new program mark for victories in a season.

For the fourth-straight season, the Blue and Gold have improved their win total from the prior year. The Setters played their first season as a program in 2015.

Inside the Numbers
*Senior keeper Jillian Oross (Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore) tallied a career-high 15 saves on the way to picking up her 12th win of the year. Oross limited the Hawks long enough for the Setters to go on their big run in the second half.

*Junior Courtney Pabst (East Patchogue, NY/Bellport) also put forth a career effort, tallying six goals in the game. She also chipped in an assist for a game-high seven points. Pabst is now leading the Blue and Gold in points this season (69) while her 27 assists rank seventh in the NE10.

*Seniors Casey Gelderman (Farmingville, NY/Sachem High School East) and Angela Kelly (Garnerville, NY/North Rockland) served as Pace's other multi-goal scorers on the day, combining for five tallies.

*Abby Haimson (Montville, NJ/Montville), Stephanie Chadnick (Brewster, NY/Brewster). Emma Rafferty (Bay Shore, NY/Islip), and Carlyn Mucci (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) also found the back of the net for the visitors.

*Trailing 9-6 with 21:57 remaining in the second half, the Setters rattled off nine consecutive goals to end the contest. Pabst recorded three of those tallies, while Kelly and Gelderman each added a pair.

How it Happened
After Saint Anselm struck first, Pabst recorded Pace's first two goals of the game while a Haimson tally put Pace up 3-1 at the 17:28 mark. The Setters and Hawks would go on to exchange the next two goals before a 3-0 stretch from Saint Anselm yielded a 6-5 lead with less than five minutes remaining in the half. Pabst registered her third tally of the half with 32 ticks on the clock to tie the score at 6-6.

Saint Anselm, which ended the first half on a 3-1 spurt, knocked in the first three goals of the second half to build up a 9-6 lead with 21:57 on the clock.

Undeterred by the deficit, the Blue and Gold's attack went into overdrive. Pabst put in back-to-back goals within 49 seconds of each other, while a tally from Kelly evened the game at 9-9 with 11:06 left.

The Setters would go on to score six-straight goals over the final 9:11 of regulation to cruise away with the win. Mucci knocked in the technical game-winner, while Pabst, Kelly, Chadnick and two more from Gelderman provided the insurance goals.
