GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – The Pace University softball team dropped a pair of contests to Adelphi on Tuesday afternoon in Garden City. The Setters fell 3-2 in Game One before falling 7-0 in the day's finale, which was called in the fifth inning due to darkness. The losses move Pace to 8-4 inside the NE10's Southwest Division this season.
Inside the Numbers
*Pace's offense, which mustered just two runs across 12 innings, was led by Lindsey Ah Soon (Ewa Beach, HI/Kamehameha Kapalama) and Niyah Brown (Chino, CA/Chino Hills).
*Ah Soon finished 3-for-4 at the dish with one run scored and one RBI, while Brown put together a 2-for-4 day with two walks and a run scored.
*Senior Jordan Chillinsky (Carlsbad, CA/Carlsbad High School) went 2-for-4 in the day's opener while Emma Schafer (Mission Viejo, CA/El Toro) tallied an RBI single in the sixth.
*Emma Bernet (Baldwinsville, NY/Charles W Baker) suffered the loss in a tight Game One, allowing three runs in six innings of action. She falls to 8-5 this season, sitting with a 1.44 ERA.
Game One Recap – Adelphi 3, Pace 2
The Panthers' three-run third inning proved to be the difference in a low-scoring first game. Brenna Martini provided the big hit, knocking in a pair of runs with a double to left-center. Nicole Camera followed with a sac fly.
The Setters cut into the Adelphi lead with runs in the fourth and the sixth. Ah Soon registered an RBI fielder's choice to put Pace on the board while Schafer recorded an RBI single up the middle in the sixth.
Down 3-2 in the seventh, the Setters put runners on first and third with two outs, but we unable to find the tying run. Overall, Pace left eight runners on base.
Game Two Recap – Adelphi 7, Pace 0 (Five Innings)
The Panthers used a stellar outing from Ally Muller in the circle, as well as three-run spurts in the second and the fourth innings to seize momentum in Game Two.
Camera, Emily Turney and Christina Rizzi each tallied multiple hits for Adelphi, while Nicoletta Cuccio tallied a pair of RBIs.
The Setters mustered just two hits and two walks off Muller, leaving four runners on base.

The Setters will be back in action tomorrow afternoon, traveling to take on Southern Connecticut State in a doubleheader.
