PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – A nine-game week for Pace Athletics gets underway with a slate of five contests on Tuesday. All four spring sports squads will be in action tomorrow afternoon, while softball closes out the midweek schedule with a pair of doubleheaders on Wednesday and Thursday.

Coming off a 5-1 week that was capped off with a weekend series sweep, the Setters turn their attention to another jam-packed week of six games across three days. Pace enters the week sitting at 14-16 overall, and 11-7 in conference play (8-2 vs. the Southwest Division).

The Blue and Gold picked up a trio of wins against American International College over the weekend, outscoring the Yellow Jackets by a 23-4 margin. The Setters won the final two games of the series in five innings via the run rule.
Niyah Brown (Chino, CA/Chino Hills) was 4-for-6 against the Yellow Jackets with three doubles and a triple, scoring three runs while driving in three more.
Lindsey Ah Soon (Ewa Beach, HI/Kamehameha Kapalama) went 3-for-7 at the plate against AIC, legging out two triples, scoring two runs and collecting an RBI. In the circle,
Emma Bernet (Baldwinsville, NY/Charles W Baker) threw 11.0 innings en route to two wins, allowing just two runs while striking out 13 Yellow Jackets.

Adelphi is 20-16-1 to begin the week, holding a 12-4-1 conference record. The Panthers went 3-1 over the weekend against the College of Saint Rose. Tuesday will be the second meeting of the year between Pace and Adelphi, as the Setters won a 4-1 contest against the Panthers last week.

SCSU holds a 6-23 overall record with a 1-8 conference mark. The Owls have dropped their last six contests after being swept by Le Moyne over the weekend in a three game series. Pace is 5-1 against SCSU over the last two seasons, sweeping the three-game 2017 regular season series.

A string of six-straight non-conference games begins against the 21-13 LIU Post Pioneers on Thursday. It will be the first meeting between Pace and LIU Post since the 2016 NCAA East Regional matchup, which the Pioneers won.

Following three straight games against ranked opponents, the Setters begin the final road trip of the regular season on Tuesday at Franklin Pierce. The Blue and Gold head into the contest at 5-5 with a 4-4 NE10 record.

Pace fell to No. 2 Merrimack on Saturday, 17-7. The Setters got a pair of goals from freshmen
Timothy January (Peabody, MA/Peabody Veterans Memorial) and
Roman Fillyaw (Norwalk, CT/Brien McMahon) to lead the attack.
Michael Pappalardo (Ossining, NY/Ossining),
Peter Bashar (Stratford, CT/St. Joseph) and
Joshua Kreitler (Shelton, CT/Shelton) also found the back of the net on Saturday afternoon.

Franklin Pierce enters the contest at 5-5, and are 3-5 against the conference. The Ravens snapped a five-game slide with a 12-10 win against Southern New Hampshire on Saturday. Franklin Pierce's Benjamin Lassow leads the NE10 in shots this season with 104. Pace has won the last two meetings against the Ravens following an 18-8 victory last season.

Taking two in a three-game weekend series, the Setters head back to New Haven for the second time in three weeks to take on the Chargers. Pace is 14-11-1 overall this season, with an 8-7 conference mark (6-3 versus the Southwest Division).

The Blue and Gold won a weekend series at AIC, outscoring the Yellow Jackets 19-7 in the three-game split.
Kyle Cashman (Hicksville, NY/Hicksville) and
Ryan Aquino (Mamaroneck, NY/Rye Neck) picked up wins on the mound, with the latter putting together a complete-game, 10-strikeout effort on Saturday.
Michael Barbato (Sparkill, NY/Tappan Zee) collected four hits and drew three walks at the plate, collecting four RBIs and scoring three runs.

New Haven enters play at 24-6 with a 9-6 conference record. Since their April 5 meeting with Pace, the Chargers have played 4-2 ball, but dropped two of three to Le Moyne over the weekend. The Blue and Gold earned a 4-1 victory against New Haven two weeks ago following a complete-game performance from
Dan Wirchansky (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland/RCC) on the mound.

Still a perfect 6-0 at home, the No. 14 Setters look to continue their success at Pace Stadium when they welcome No. 25 Assumption for a Tuesday night contest. Pace is 9-4 overall, and have played to a 6-3 record against the NE10.

The Setters come off a 14-13 loss to No. 20 Bentley on Saturday.
Casey Gelderman (Farmingville, NY/Sachem High School East) led the Blue and Gold with five goals, while
Courtney Pabst (East Patchogue, NY/Bellport) collected five points on three goals and a pair of assists. The Pabst and Gelderman duo rank one and two in points for Pace this season with 54 and 52, respectively.

Assumption is 7-5 on the season with an NE10 record of 4-5. The Greyhounds dropped a 12-11 contest to Saint Anselm on Saturday, snapping a two-game winning streak. Pace is 3-0 all-time against Assumption, but Tuesday will be the first meeting where the Greyhounds have been ranked.
