PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – An action-packed weekend for Pace Athletics kicks off spring break, as all four spring sports teams will be in competition. The softball season gets underway with a doubleheader in California, baseball plays two at home, and both men's and women's lacrosse will look to build on their undefeated starts to the season.

No. 19 Pace Women's Lacrosse at Embry-Riddle University | Sunday, 4 p.m. | Live Stats | Video
Following a midweek victory over No. 5 LIU Post, the 19th-ranked Setters head south for a pair of weekend games in the Sunshine State, taking on No. 6 Florida Tech on Saturday and Embry-Riddle University on Sunday. Pace enters the weekend at 2-0 to begin the year.

Pace defeated the Pioneers on Tuesday, 18-16, to pick up the first win in program history over a top-five opponent. The senior duo of Casey Gelderman (Farmingville, NY/Sachem High School East) and Stephanie Chadnick (Brewster, NY/Brewster) scored four goals each for the Blue and Gold, while classmate Abby Haimson (Montville, NJ/Montville) matched Gelderman's team high of three assists. Gelderman has racked up 10 points across Pace's first two contests of the season to lead the team. Courtney Pabst (East Patchogue, NY/Bellport) and Emily Ankabrandt (Scotia, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) also had big offensive games, finding the back of the Pioneer net three times each. Jillian Oross (Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore) picked up her second win of the season in net, making 12 saves in a full 60 minutes of action.

Florida Tech has begun the season 6-0 ahead of Saturday's meeting with the Setters. The Panthers most recently defeated Young Harris College on Wednesday, 20-15. Florida Tech is averaging 19.3 goals per game this season.

The Eagles of Embry-Riddle are 5-1 this year, coming off a 21-5 victory over Barton College on Wednesday. Embry-Riddle has scored 20 or more goals in every game this season. This weekend's meetings will be the first-ever between Pace and both Florida Tech and Embry-Riddle.

Pace Baseball vs Goldey-Beacom College (Doubleheader) | Saturday, 12 p.m. | Live Stats | Video
Returning to Finnerty Field for the first time since their historic season opener, the Setters welcome Goldey-Beacom College to Pleasantville for a Saturday doubleheader beginning at noon. Pace is 2-0-1 to begin the 2018 campaign.

The Setters played NYIT to a 5-5 tie on Tuesday as the contest was called due to darkness in the 10th inning. Brian Bohlander (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland) led the Pace offense with a 2-for-3 afternoon, scoring a run and drawing a walk. Ryan Crowley (Cornwall on Hudson, NY/Iona Prep/Monmouth), Paul Piccolino (Staten Island, NY/Monsignor Farrell), Michael Salmonese (Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick), and Matthew Kurdewan (Neptune, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) each collected an RBI that sported Pace a 5-0 lead in the second inning. In his first start of the season, Kyle Cashman (Hicksville, NY/Hicksville) pitched five solid innings for the Blue and Gold, allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits and two walks while striking out six.

Goldey-Beacom enters play at 2-8-1 this season. The Lightning are winless in their last six contests, going 0-5-1 in that span. Goldey-Beacom was swept in a doubleheader against Millersville their last time out on Mar. 4. Saturday's games will be the first-ever meetings between the Setters and the Lightning.

No. 4 Pace Men's Lacrosse vs American International College | Saturday, 7 p.m. | Live Stats | Video
After snowfall postponed a midweek meeting with No. 15 NYIT, the fourth-ranked Setters return to Pace Stadium for game two of the 2018 season to host American International College on Saturday. The Blue and Gold have begun the season 1-0.

Pace picked up a 12-7 season-opening victory over No. 10 LIU Post last Saturday. Nine different Setters played their way onto the scoresheet with at least a point. Leading the offense was Liam Brennan (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman), collecting five points on two goals and three assists. Bradley Paterson (Caldwell, NJ/Depaul Catholic), Kevin Vogelsberg (Wantagh, NY/Holy Trinity Diocesan), and Joseph Diggle (West Islip, NY/West Islip) each had two goals as well. Robert Beshlian (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh), the NE10 Conference's Goalkeeper of the Week, collected 17 saves against the Pioneers, and held LIU Post scoreless in the final 12:35 of regulation as Pace ended the game with five unanswered goals to secure the win.

AIC is 1-3 to begin the season, and are 0-1 against the NE10 this year. The Yellow Jackets fell in their conference opener against Adelphi their last time out, dropping a 21-2 contest last Saturday. Pace won last year's meeting with AIC, 23-7.

Pace Softball at Academy of Art (Doubleheader) | Sunday, 3 p.m. | Live Stats
The Setters season begins on Sunday with a doubleheader against The Academy of Art, the first of four doubleheaders in California to start the 2018 campaign.

Pace will turn to its senior leaders to begin the season on the right foot. The Blue and Gold return Ashley Lew (New City, NY/Clarkstown High School North), Larissa Labs (Carlsbad, CA/San Marcos High School), Jordan Chillinsky (Carlsbad, CA/Carlsbad High School), and Tara Bernstein (Glen Oaks, NY/Bayside High School) to the field as well as Jaclyn Flores (Escondido, CA/San Pasqual High School) on the mound. The veteran leaders will look to get the Setters back to the NCAA tournament, which Pace missed last season for the first time since 2014. A full season preview for the Setters can be found HERE.

Academy of Art is 12-6 on the season and are winners of four straight. The Urban Knights swept a doubleheader against Holy Names on Tuesday, and will play a two-game Friday split against Notre Dame de Namur ahead of Sunday's showdown with the Setters.
