PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – In one of their most dominant performances of the season, the 11
th-ranked Pace University women's lacrosse team tallied a 16-5 triumph over American International College on Saturday afternoon. The win moves the Setters' record to 6-3 overall this season, and 3-2 inside the Northeast-10 Conference.
Inside the Numbers

Angela Kelly (Garnerville, NY/North Rockland) and
Courtney Pabst (East Patchogue, NY/Bellport) piloted the Pace attack, combining for eight goals and five assists. Kelly poured in a team-high five tallies, while Pabst led Pace with four assists. Pabst extends her team-leading points total this season to 41.
*Seniors
Emily Ankabrandt (Scotia, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) and
Casey Gelderman (Farmingville, NY/Sachem High School East), along with freshman
Emma Rafferty (Bay Shore, NY/Islip) also put forth multi-goal contests. Gelderman, Pace's leading scorer on the year, has recorded more than one tally in eight of nine games.
*The Blue and Gold put together a 28-8 margin in shots on goal, including a disparity of 20-1 in the first half.
*Defensively, the Setters were able to force 17 turnovers—their second-highest total of the season. Senior
Jillian Oross (Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore) earned the win in net, needing to make just three saves to pick up her sixth victory in net.
*The five goals-against marked the second-lowest total for Pace this season.
How it Happened
It was all Blue and Gold from the opening draw on Saturday. After AIC evened the game at 1-1, the Setters rattled off 13 consecutive goals. Kelly served as the catalyst, notching all five of her tallies over a 20-minute span in the first half.
Gelderman put in the final goal during Pace's 13-0 stretch at the 28:55 mark of the second half. Sitting with a comfortable 14-1 lead, Pace was able to play the possession game for a good majority of the second frame. Pabst scored the Setters' final two goals of the afternoon at 17:51 and 11:31.
