Game One Recap - Pace 4, Goldey-Beacom 1
After falling behind early, the Blue and Gold found some offense in the third inning.  Almonte singled to left field to begin the rally before finally scoring on a ground-rule double to dead-center by Piccolino.
Ryan Crowley (Cornwall on Hudson, NY/Iona Prep/Monmouth) bunted Almonte over to second base, creating the scoring opportunity.
In the fifth inning, the Setters tacked on another three runs in similar fashion. Almonte singled to left field, Crowley bunted him over, Piccolino walked,
Michael Salmonese (Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick) walked, and Gulino delivered a ground-rule double to left field that scored Piccolino and Almonte.
That proved to be all the offense Wirchansky needed as he threw another gem to improve to 2-0 on the year.
