Pace Men's Basketball Defeated at No. 25 Le Moyne

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Playing their final road game of the regular season, the Pace University men's basketball team was defeated at No. 25 Le Moyne on Wednesday night, 79-42.

Inside the Numbers
*Sophomore Peyton Wejnert (Point Pleasant, NJ/Southern Regional) led Pace's offense with a game-high 14 points. He also led the Setters with seven rebounds, in addition to tying a team-best with two steals (Gilbertson).

*Junior Luke McLaughlin (Blauvelt, NY/Tappan Zee) served as Pace's second-leading scorer with seven points, while freshmen Kevin Smith (New Haven, CT/South Kent) and Austin Gilbertson (Etters, PA/Trinity) each added six apiece.

*Le Moyne, which leads the NE10 in scoring defense this season, held Pace to its lowest point total of the season. Pace's previous low was 52 points against Stonehill on Jan. 23.

*The Dolphins had nine different players score at least seven points, with only two reaching double figures. Le Moyne made 9-of-19 from three-point range in the second half.

How it Happened
Pace hung tough for much of the first half before a late run from Le Moyne seized momentum heading into halftime. In a slow start for both teams, a jumper from Gilbertson cut the Dolphins' lead to 9-7 at the 13:11 mark. The Dolphins' edge would once again get cut to two at 19-17 following a Kevin Seymour (Bronx, NY/Blair Academy / Central Connecticut State University) jumper at the 6:49 mark. From there, Le Moyne controlled the action. The Dolphins ended the first half on an 18-4 run to take a 16-point advantage into the break.

The Dolphins' lead would increase incrementally throughout the second half, eventually eclipsing 20 midway through the half.

Up Next
Pace, which just finished a four-game road trip, will return home on Saturday to host Southern Connecticut State University at 3:30 p.m.
