Pace Volleyball Defeated in Regular Season Finale, Tabbed as No. 6 Seed in Upcoming NE10 Tournament

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University volleyball team dropped its regular-season finale on Saturday afternoon, falling to Stonehill College, 3-1 (21-25, 20-25, 25-22, 23-25). The Setters end the regular season with a 20-9 overall record, and an 8-6 mark in conference play. Pace has earned the No. 6 seed in the upcoming Northeast-10 Conference Tournament.

After the Setters honored the three senior members of their roster prior to the contest, Pace was locked in a tightly-contested match that saw both teams scoring 20 or more points in each set. While the Blue and Gold continued to claw their way back into the match on numerous occasions, the Skyhawks were able to ultimately fight off the comeback effort and secure the win.

Following their Senior Day ceremonies, a pair from the Class of 2019 were fittingly amongst Pace's top playmakers on the day. Claudia Fontanet (Bayamon, Puerto Rico/Academia Maria Reina) recorded her 13th double-double of the season, recording 17 kills and a team-leading 18 digs. She ends the regular season as Pace's leading attacker with 330 kills on the year. Fontanet's classmate Kathleen Benson (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) was also involved in the attack with eight kills.

Tatjana Calimpong-Burke (Waianae, HI/Iolani) ended the season with a third consecutive double-double, recording a team-high 19 kills while collecting 15 digs. Katy Motz (Cedar Park, TX/Cedar Park) led the Setters with 25 assists on the day, her highest total in nine matches.
