GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – In their first NE10 contest of the season, the Pace University women's basketball team was defeated at Adelphi University on Wednesday night, 57-52.
In a back and forth battle, the game fittingly went to the fourth quarter. Down six heading into the final frame, Adelphi started the fourth on an 8-2 run to tie the game at 44-44 with 8:09 left in regulation.
After Pace pulled ahead once again at 48-46 following a
Jackie DelliSanti (Commack, NY/Commack) jumper, the Panthers would end the contest with an 11-4 stretch to pull away with the win.
Sophomore
Lauren Schetter (Beacon, NY/Beacon High School) was Pace's leading scorer and rebounder on Wednesday, finishing the night with 15 points and eight rebounds. She also added team-highs with two steals and two blocks.
DelliSanti joined Schetter in double figures with 12 points, while also hauling in seven rebounds. Â
Defensively, the Blue and Gold racked up eight steals and forced 19 turnovers on the night.
