Pace Volleyball Picks Up Sixth Straight Road Win at Le Moyne, 3-2

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Playing their second straight five-set match in as many days, the Pace University volleyball team picked up their fifth consecutive win against Le Moyne on Saturday. The 3-2 win (25-22, 19-25, 25-23, 25-27, 15-10) improves the Setters' record to 16-3 on the season and 5-1 in conference play. Pace has now won their last six road matches.

The Setters and Dolphins traded sets throughout the match, with Pace able to take the deciding fifth set by a final of 15-10.

Three Setters posted double-doubles in the contest. Claudia Fontanet (Bayamon, Puerto Rico/Academia Maria Reina) had a team-high 17 kills while adding 15 digs on defense. Katy Motz (Cedar Park, TX/Cedar Park) and Samantha Nidini (Houston, TX/Clearlake), who combined for 51 of Pace's 55 assists on the day, both reached double figures in the digs column as well. Motz led the Blue and Gold with 26 assists and 21 digs while Nidini added 25 helpers and 12 digs of her own.

Tatjana Calimpong-Burke (Waianae, HI/Iolani) and Kathleen Benson (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) joined Fontanet as the day's attack leaders, posting 14 and 11 kills, respectively. Danielle Vaiano (Seaford, NY/St. Anthony's) added 17 digs for the Blue and Gold.

The Setters recorded 11 blocks in the game, their second-highest total for the season. Pace closed out the match with three straight sets of hitting percentages above .240, including a game-best .263 in the final set.
