PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Facing the top team in the NE10 standings, the Pace University volleyball team was defeated by the University of New Haven, 3-0 (21-25, 23-25, 21-25), on Tuesday night. The loss shifts the Setters' record to 18-6 this season, including a mark of 7-3 inside the Northeast-10 Conference.
Senior
Claudia Fontanet (Bayamon, Puerto Rico/Academia Maria Reina) led the Pace attack with a team-high 13 kills. She also tied for the squad-best with 10 digs, signifying her ninth double-double of the season.
Junior
Samantha Nidini (Houston, TX/Clearlake) also registered a double-double, finishing the match with 20 assists and 10 digs.
Tatjana Calimpong-Burke (Waianae, HI/Iolani) and
Kathleen Benson (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) supplemented the Pace offense, combining for 13 putaways.
As a team, the Setters totaled eight service aces while Fontanet, Nidini and Calimpong-Burke each posted a solo block.

The Setters hit the road this weekend, taking on both Saint Anselm College and Merrimack College. Pace will begin things with a match against the Hawks on Friday at 6 p.m.
