Pace Volleyball Drops Matches to No. 17 Tampa and Central Washington

TAMPA, Fla. – The Pace University volleyball team concluded its trip to Florida on Saturday with losses to No. 17 University of Tampa (3-0) and Central Washington University (3-0).

For a second-straight day, the Setters were led by Claudia Fontanet (Bayamon, Puerto Rico/Academia Maria Reina). Fontanet piled up team-highs in both kills (11) and digs (24).

Samantha Nidini (Houston, TX/Clearlake) controlled the Pace attack, racking up 31 assists over the six sets.

Sydney Lecker (Littleton, CO/Chatfield) put together a team-high eight kills against Central Washington while freshman Elien Peeters (Herdersem, Belgium/Onze Lieve Vrouwecollege) posted three blocks versus Tampa.

The Blue and Gold will have another four-match stretch next weekend at the Georgian Court Invitational (Sept. 8-9).
