No. 7 Pace Field Hockey Rolls Past New Haven, 6-0

WEST HAVEN, Conn.  – The seventh-ranked Pace University field hockey team didn't allow a single shot on goal in a 6-0 win at the University of New Haven on Thursday night. The victory moves the Setters to 8-1 overall this season.

It was another dominant effort for the road team as the Setters tied a season-high in goals while outshooting New Haven by a 19-0 margin. Senior goalkeeper Lesly Sanchez Alvarez (Stamford, CT/Stamford) didn't need to make a save en route to earning her fifth shutout of the season.

Junior Jane Kasparian (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac) put Pace on the board in the 21st minute with her third goal of the season. Kasparian moves into third on the team with eight points this season.

Madison McGowan (New Freedom, PA/Susquehannock) scored the next two tallies for the Setters—her first two of the season—to give Pace a 3-0 lead at halftime.

The Blue and Gold tacked on three more in the second half, beginning with Nessa McKie (Cicero, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) finding the back of the net in the 50th minute.

Freshman Lisette de Bruin (Bilthoven, Netherlands/Het Nieuwe Lyceum), who recorded three points in Pace's win on Tuesday, registered the final two goals. The rookie midfield scored in the 54th and 58th minutes to stretch the final margin to 6-0. De Bruin now leads Pace in both goals (4) and total points this season (10).
