MANCHESTER, N.H. - Hitting the road for the first time in the Northeast-10 Conference, the Pace University women's soccer team endured a 3-0 defeat to No. 21 Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday afternoon.
Although the Setters and Penmen finished even in both total shots and shots on goal, it was a tough start that doomed the visitors. Southern New Hampshire tallied a pair of goals within the first 8:03 of regulation to seize the quick momentum.
Despite the early deficit, Pace stayed aggressive throughout. The Setters initiated seven corner kicks, but were unable to find the back of the net.
SNHU's goalkeeper Paige Salmon had a busy afternoon as Pace forced her to register a season-high six saves in net. In fact, Salmon had never had to make more than three stops in a game prior to today's contest.
Senior defender
Drew Ribadeneyra (Maybrook, NY/Valley Central) finished the game with a team-high three shots on goal.
