PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Juniors
Casey Gelderman (Farmingville, NY/Sachem High School East) and
Abby Haimson (Montville, NJ/Montville) scored six times apiece to help the No. 13 Pace University women's lacrosse team get back on track on Saturday and defeat Saint Anselm College, 21-9, in Northeast-10 Conference action at Pace Stadium. Pace's 21 goals tie a program record set earlier this season against Queens College. Gelderman's eight total points set a new program single-game record, while Haimson's seven points tie the previous record and match her personal best.
FIRST HALF
- Junior
Abby Haimson (Montville, NJ/Montville) got things going quickly scoring once just 31 seconds into the game, and again just 17 seconds later to put the Setters up, 2-0.
- Shortly after, junior
Stephanie Chadnick (Brewster, NY/Brewster) added one of her own to make it an early 3-0 lead for the Setters.
- Saint Anselm's Erica Mattila got the Hawks on the board at the 24:36 mark, but junior
Casey Gelderman (Farmingville, NY/Sachem High School East) got one back five minutes later to make it 4-1.
- Saint Anselm's Rachel Henderson added another goal for the Hawks at the 16:34 mark to get them back within two.
- Gelderman and Haimson then scored back-to-back putting the Setters ahead, 6-2.
- Gelderman netted her third of the game at the 14:10 mark to make it a 7-2 game.
- Henderson and Mattila then got two back for the Hawks to bring them back within three.
- Haimson fired back with her fourth of the half with 7:14 until the break to put Pace up, 8-4.
- Henderson got one back on a free-position, making it a three-goal game once again.
- Junior
Angela Kelly (Garnerville, NY/North Rockland) got on the board with 2:12 left in the half, and then freshman
Mary Kate Lonegan (Brewster, NY/Brewster) scored just 11 seconds later to make it a 10-5 game.
- Meaghan Sheehy and Marta Versprille each scored in the final 15 seconds for the Hawks, sending the game into the half with a 10-7 score in favor of the Setters.
SECOND HALF
- Junior
Emily Ankabrandt (Scotia, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) scored just 48 seconds into the second half to give Pace a four-goal lead.
- Kelly netted her second of the day just 57 seconds later to make it 12-7.
- Gelderman scored again to make it a six-goal game.
- Haimson added back-to-back scores, followed by another Gelderman goal to make it 16-7 with 22:16 still left to play.
- Gelderman tallied one more, and then set up Lonegan for her second of the day to put the Setters on top, 18-7.
- Junior
Courtney Sulfaro (Shirley, NY/William Floyd) then scored her first goal of the year at the 10:12 mark to make it a 12-goal game.
- Sophomore
Juliana Marcolini (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) joined the party off a feed from Kelly to make it a 20-7 Pace lead.
- Versprille scored the first goal of the second half for the Hawks with 5:28 remaining.
- Freshman
Johnna Leone (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) got on the board with 3:34 to go, but Saint Anselm's Henderson netted a free-position goal with 1:44 left to make it 21-9.

Goalkeeper Notes
- Junior goalkeeper
Alissa Silvestri (Congers, NY/Clarkstown North) stopped seven shots and allowed just seven goals to pick up her eighth win of the season.
SETTER STATS
- Gelderman finished with eight points on six goals and two assists. She also picked up a game-high seven draw controls.
- Haimson scored six times and dished out an assist for seven total points. She also caused a turnover and scooped up a ground ball.
- Sophomore
Courtney Pabst (East Patchogue, NY/Bellport) finished with three assists and five draw controls.
- Kelly tallied three points on two goals and an assist, while Ankabrandt matched her three points with two assists and a goal.
- Lonegan scored twice, while Marcolini had two points on a goal and an assist.
- Chadnick scored once, caused a team-high four turnovers and grabbed three ground balls.

- Henderson scored a team-high four goals.
