NORTH EASTON, Mass. – Junior
Abby Haimson (Montville, NJ/Montville) scored four goals Friday evening, giving her 73 total points in the 2017 campaign and setting a new Pace University women's lacrosse single-season program record. The No. 11-ranked Setters dropped their regular-season finale at No. 18 Stonehill by a score of 18-9 at W.B. Mason Stadium.
HAIMSON'S BIG DAY
- Haimson broke the previous record of 71 points, which she set herself in 2016.
- In addition, Haimson improved her season total to 58 goals, surpassing junior
Casey Gelderman (Farmingville, NY/Sachem High School East) for Pace's single-season goals record.
- Gelderman scored once on Friday, and is just one goal behind Haimson with 57 on the year.
FIRST HALF
- Stonehill's Jennifer Wheaton scored the first goal of the game at the 26:45 mark, but Haimson tied it up just two minutes later.
- Stonehill then went on a five-goal run to take a 6-1 advantage.
- Sophomore
Juliana Marcolini (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) halted Stonehill's run at the 13:44 mark, and then Haimson scored her second of the evening two minutes later to make it 6-3.
- The Skyhawks then scored five straight goals again to go up, 11-3.
- Junior
Courtney Sulfaro (Shirley, NY/William Floyd) got on the board with 3:05 remaining, but Wheaton scored again shortly after.
- Gelderman scored with 16 seconds left to make it a 13-5 game at the break.
SECOND HALF
- Stonehill's Taylor Shannahan scored the first goal of the half, but Haimson responded at the 24:08 mark.
- Stonehill then netted the next four goals before junior
Najmah James (Danbury, CT/Danbury) tallied her first goal of the year at the 6:49 mark.
- Haimson added her fourth of the night with 3:32 remaining, but Stonehill's Kiki Ryan added one a minute later.
- Junior
Makayla McDermott (Greenlawn, NY/Elwood-John Glenn) scored the final goal of the game with just three seconds remaining.

- Haimson led the Setters with four goals in the game.

- The Setters get a rematch with Stonehill on Wednesday, May 3, in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Quarterfinals. A game time has yet to be determined. Stonehill will host the game as the No. 4 seed.
