BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – The Pace University softball team fell to the College of Saint Rose on Monday by a score of 4-3 in Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division action at Pace Field.
SCORING PLAYS
Bottom 2nd – Pace
- With two outs in the second, senior catcher
Nikole Larm (Brewster, NY/Brewster) blasted a solo home run over the left-field fence, putting the Setters ahead, 1-0.
Top 4th – Saint Rose
- Second baseman Taylor Solomon led off the fourth with a double into the gap in right-center.
- First baseman Kayla Bancroft then homered to left-center, putting the Golden Knights ahead, 2-1.
Bottom 4th – Pace
- Junior right fielder
Jordan Chillinsky (Carlsbad, CA/Carlsbad High School) walked to lead off the fourth, and then junior center fielder
Larissa Labs (Carlsbad, CA/San Marcos High School) singled to third.
- Larm laid down a sacrifice bunt to move both runners into scoring position.
- Freshman
Emma Schafer (Mission Viejo, CA/El Toro) was then put in to pinch hit, and capitalized with a single through the left side, scoring Chillinsky to tie the game.
- Sophomore third baseman
Lindsey Ah Soon (Ena Beach, HI/Kamehameha Kapalama) then singled to third, loading the bases, as Labs was held at third.
- Freshman left fielder
Stephanie Wang (Arcadia, CA/Arcadia) then hit a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Labs to put Pace on top, 3-2.
Top 5th – Saint Rose
- Third baseman Jadyn Costello hit a solo homer over the wall in center field, tying the game at 3-3.
Top 7th – Saint Rose
- Center fielder Astasia Myler homered to left to lead off the seventh, putting Saint Rose ahead, 4-3.
