MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Pace University women's basketball team fell to Saint Anselm College in Northeast-10 Conference play Wednesday evening by a score of 76-60 at Stoutenburgh Gym.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1ST QUARTER
- Freshman
Jackie DelliSanti (Commack, NY/Commack) scored the first five points for the Setters on two lay-ups and a free throw to take a 5-3 lead with 5:50 left in the first quarter.
- St. Anselm then went on a 14-0 run, halted by junior
Geena Rosalbo (Staten Island, NY/Curtis)'s layup at the 1:30 mark, leading Pace down, 17-7.
- To close the period, Rosalbo sank two free throws, leaving the Hawks up, 19-12, heading into the second.
2ND QUARTER
- Freshman Italee Smikle-Brown connected on a jumper for the first basket in the second frame to bring the Setters within five points.
- The Hawks, however, outscored the Setters, 17-8, through the rest of the second, leaving the Setters facing a 36-22 deficit at halftime.
HALFTIME STATS
- Freshman
Jackie DelliSanti (Commack, NY/Commack) led the Setters with five points and two rebounds.
- St. Anselm's Clairee Putnam and Emma Daly each scored eight points in the first half.
3RD QUARTER
- After Kaila Duarte scored to open the frame for the Hawks, senior
Kirsten Dodge (Fabius, NY/Fabius-Pompey) and DelliSanti each finished in the paint early in the third.
- The Setters played the Hawks evenly throughout the period, as each team netted 20 points, but Pace still trailed by 14 heading into the fourth.
4TH QUARTER
- The Hawks took a 20-18 advantage in the fourth to claim the 16-point win.
SETTER STATS
- Sophomore
Alexandra Monteleone (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) led the team with 17 points and added five rebounds.
- DelliSanti, Dodge and senior
Aurellia Cammock (Brooklyn, NY/South Shore / Iona College) scored nine points apiece. Cammock also led the Setters with eight rebounds.
HAWKS LEADERS
- Duarte finished with a double-double after scoring 13 points and grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds.
- Candace Andrews scored nine points, dished out a game-best 11 assists and pulled down seven rebounds.

- St. Anselm: 8-5 (4-4 NE-10)
WHAT'S NEXT?
- The Setters take to the road and travel to North Andover, Mass. on Saturday, Jan. 7, when they visit Merrimack College for NE10 action. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
