Sinanan’s Late Header Fuels Pace Soccer to Big Victory over Saint Rose

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Junior Emma Sinanan (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) put herself in exactly the right place at the exactly the right time to head in the game-winning goal in the 80th minute of the Pace University women's soccer team's 2-1 victory over Northeast-10 Conference foe College of Saint Rose Wednesday evening at Pace Stadium.

KENNY HITS SINANAN TO SET UP GAME-WINNER
- Senior Ashley Kenny (Chester, NY/Washingtonville) was instructed to "throw big" on a throw-in deep on the offensive end of the field.
- From the right wing, she tossed it over Saint Rose defenders, bouncing it right in front of a charging Sinanan, who redirected the pass with her head right past the keeper into the right corner to give Pace a 2-1 lead in the 80th minute.
- The game-winning goal was Sinanan's first score of the season

HOW WE GOT THERE
- Junior Drew Ribadeneyra (Maybrook, NY/Valley Central) lined up for a free kick from just beyond the box in the eighth minute of the game.
- She bent the shot toward the top-right corner of the net, where it deflected off the keeper's fingertips into the inside of the post to give Pace an early 1-0 advantage.
- In the 17th minute, Saint Rose's Nina Predanic managed to redirect a free kick from Totianyu Guadalupe toward the right of the net to tie the game at 1-1.

PACE LEADERS
- Junior goalkeeper Aisha Chauhan (Carteret, NJ/Carteret) stopped four shots to pick up the victory and improve to 5-2-2 on the year.
- Sinanan and Ribadeneyra netted the goals for the Setters.
- Kenny picked up an assist, and also attempted three shots, putting two on net.
- Senior Delany Williams (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) set up numerous scoring opportunities in the game, and also attempted three shots.
