MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Pace University women's soccer team shouldered a 2-1 defeat on the road at Saint Anselm College in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alexis Elowitch took a pass from Nicole Rust in the box and finished with her right foot, scoring the first goal of the game in the third minute to give Saint Anselm a 1-0 lead early in the match.
- Junior
Drew Ribadeneyra (Maybrook, NY/Valley Central) set up junior
Emma Sinanan (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) for a header off a corner kick, allowing her to score her second goal in as many games to tie it up in the 10th minute.
- Saint Anselm's Jessica Kaufman finished a one-timer from Caly Farina in the 37th minute to put the home team up, 2-1, and complete the scoring for the game.
PACE LEADERS
- Junior goalkeeper
Aisha Chauhan (Carteret, NJ/Carteret) stopped three shots in the game.
- Sinanan put all three of her shot attempts on goal, scoring off a header for the second straight game.
- Ribadeneyra tallied an assist and tried two shots in the game.
SAINT ANSELM
- Goalkeeper Cassie Quattropani saved five shots to earn the win.
- Elowitch fired off six shots, and scored the only one that went on net.
- Kaufman scored on her only shot attempt.
- Rust and Farina each picked up an assist for the Hawks.
