MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Pace University women's volleyball team played in its first Northeast-10 Conference matchup of the season on Saturday, dropping the match, 3-1, to Saint Anselm College.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Setters struggled early on in the match, hitting just .029 in the opening frame to fall, 25-20, and fall behind, 1-0, in the match.
- The Hawks doubled their hitting percentage to .229 in the second frame, helping them erase Pace's early six-point lead to take a 25-18 win in the set.
- The Setters and Hawks battled back and forth in the third game, eventually reaching a 24-23 lead in favor of Saint Anselm for match point
- Pace rallied back to take three points of the frame to force the fourth set after a 26-24 victory.
- Saint Anselm led 20-9 and looked to be running away with the fourth game.
- The Setters regrouped to go on a 10-point run to get back within a point, but the Hawks turned it around to take the last five points and win the match.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Sophomore
Claudia Fontanet (Bayamon, Puerto Rico/Academia Maria Reina) led all players with 15 kills and tied for second with 17 digs. She also hit an impressive .424.
- Junior
Sydney Lecker (Littleton, CO/Chatfield) finished with nine kills and two blocks.
- Sophomore
Kathleen Benson (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) led the Setters with four blocks.
- Freshman
Danielle Vaiano (Seaford, NY/St. Anthony's) contributed a team-high 22 digs.
- Freshman
Samantha Nidini (Houston, TX/Clearlake) dished out 31 assists, contributed 9 digs.
