Pace Volleyball Avenges Early Season Loss with Sweep of Holy Family

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – After taking a 3-0 loss earlier in the season to Holy Family University, the Pace University women's volleyball team found redemption Thursday evening at the Goldstein Fitness Center, shutting out the Tigers, 3-0.

RESULTS
Pace 3, Holy Family 0 (26-24, 25-15, 25-20)

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1
- It appeared the Setters might struggle in Thursday's match, as they fell behind, 7-4, early in the first set, but they bounced back to quickly tie it up.
- Pace fell behind, 19-17, late in the set, but rallied to take a 24-22 edge.
- The Tigers scored the next two points to tie it up, but Pace quickly took the final two points of the set to take a 1-0 lead in the match.

SET 2
- Pace gained a lot of early momentum after a five-point run gave the Setters a 7-4 lead.
- Later, a four-point stretch made it 16-9, and another pushed the lead to 23-14 before the Setters claimed a 25-15 win and a 2-0 lead on the night.

SET 3
- Pace ran out to a 10-4 lead and took full control of the third game early on.
- After a timeout, Holy Family flipped the switch with five straight points to get back within one.
- After taking a 15-13 lead, the Setters took the next five points in the match to distance themselves from their guests.
- Another five-point run for the Tigers made it a one-point match at 21-20, forcing the Setters to call timeout.
- The timeout did the trick, as Pace regrouped and took the final four points to claim the match.
