Pace Soccer Nabs First NE-10 Win with Shutout of Saint Michael’s

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University women's soccer team achieved its first Northeast-10 Conference victory of the season by a score of 3-0 Saturday evening against Saint Michael's College at Pace Stadium.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Senior Delany Williams (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) got on the board early and scored the first goal for the Setters in the sixth minute off after following up a saved header from senior Ashley Kenny (Chester, NY/Washingtonville).
- In the 25th minute, Williams fed senior Alyssa Zeoli (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay East Fishkill) with a long pass from near midfield and into the box, setting her up to give the Setters a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
- With fewer than 20 minutes left in regulation, junior Tabatha Gonzalez (Pembroke Pines, FL/Charles W. Flanagan) passed to sophomore Victoria Kealy (Nutley, NJ/Nutley), who blasted in the last goal of the game to the left corner of the net, sealing the win for the Setters.
 
PACE LEADERS
- Williams finished with three points after scoring once and assisting another goal.
- Zeoli and Kealy also both scored in the win.
- Kenny and Gonzalez each registered an assist in the defeat of the Purple Knights.
- Junior goalkeeper Aisha Chauhan (Carteret, NJ/Carteret) registered her third shutout of the season after making one stop, advancing to 4-2-2 on the year.

- Pace outshot St. Michael's, 16-4, in Saturday's conference matchup.

WHAT'S NEXT?
- The Setters will host the College of Saint Rose at Pace Stadium on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m.
- Pace then travels to Manchester, N.H. to visit the Saint Anselm Hawks on Saturday, Oct. 1, for an 11 a.m NE-10 contest.
