NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Pace University women's soccer team came short in an overtime showdown on Tuesday evening against Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) by a score of 2-1 in Northeast-10 Conference play at Jess Dow Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Freshman
Gabby Picciano (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Hendrick Hudson) netted a goal in the 44th minute from right up the middle of the field for the first score of her young career.
- With four minutes left in regulation, SCSU's Brianna Casey scored the Owls' first goal to force the game into overtime.
- Caroline Staudle scored the game-winner in overtime in the 93rd minute to clinch the win for the home team.
PACE LEADERS
- Picciano netted her first goal of the year in the first half.
- Junior goalkeeper
Aisha Chauhan (Carteret, NJ/Carteret) finished with five saves, but falls to 3-2-2 on the season.
