Chauhan Battles for Second Shutout as Pace Soccer Draws with Merrimack

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Junior goalkeeper Aisha Chauhan (Carteret, NJ/Carteret) earned her second shutout of the season and the 10th of her career, helping the Pace University women's soccer team to play to a scoreless draw with Northeast-10 Conference foe Merrimack College Wednesday evening at Pace Stadium.
 
INCHING TOWARD HISTORY
- After setting a new program record with eight shutouts in 2015, Chauhan boosted her total to 10 with Wednesday's blanking of Merrimack.
- Chauhan is now two shutouts away from tying Ria Carroll for second all-time in Pace history.
- Jocelyne Durando holds Pace's career shutouts record with 19 across four seasons.
 
SETTING THE TONE
- Chauhan was put in a tough spot in just the fifth minute of the game, as the Warriors drew a penalty-kick opportunity for a chance to take an early lead.
- Chauhan made a brilliant diving save to her left, foreshadowing what was to come for the next 105 minutes.
 
PACE LEADERS
- Chauhan made five saves to pick up her second shutout of the season.
- Senior Ashley Kenny (Chester, NY/Washingtonville) led the Setters with five shots attempted in the game, putting two of them on net.
- Senior Delany Williams (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) and junior Emma Sinanan (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) each fired off three shots and put one on target.

- Pace attempted 20 shots in the game, putting eight on net, while Merrimack tried 14 shots and got five on goal.
